An account of the erection of St. Thomas Church and parsonage, Stanley, N.B. / by W. O. Raymond, Sr. – 1879-1883. – 43 pp. of textual records. Here Raymond discusses the stages of construction of the first St. Thomas Church, the parish’s early history, and the construction of the parsonage. Also included are sketches of the church’s exterior and a floor plan of both the first and second St. Thomas Church and of the parsonage. In addition, there are subscription lists, donation lists, and statistics of lumber used, all relating to the construction of the second church, as well as subscription and donation lists for the construction of the parsonage. The second St. Thomas Church was built in 1879 under the supervision of Lieutenant-Colonel Charles W. Raymond, of Woodstock, father of the Rev. W.O. Raymond who served as first missionary of the new church. Consecrated by Bishop John Medley in January 1880, this structure replaced the first St. Thomas Church, which was built in the 1840s.
